What are you proud of as a lecturer?
Entering my 14th year as a lecturer, I'm proud of two major things that happened just this year alone - the first is that I am now officially a steward for my department after completing the LEO Organizing Fellowship this past summer 2025 (hip hip!). The second thing I am proud of is that I was selected as the Flint Lecturer II to receive the LEO Collegiate Lecturer Award for 2025-2026 academic year, which is one of the highest honors a lecturer can receive, and I'm now able to use the honorary title of Collegiate Lecturer (hooray!).
What might others not know about you?
I have a motorcycle endorsement! And I have been on the Kpop bandwagon since 2022 (Army, Engene, Stay).
What is something that you are proud of outside your role as a lecturer?
I'm proud of a couple of things outside of my role as a LEO lecturer. The first is that I'm still dancing professionally as I enter into my 37th year on this Earth. Catch me on stage with Detroit Dance Collective and back-up dancing for Tunde Olaniran. The second is that I'm super proud of my work as a PhD in Dance Candidate at Texas Woman's University, where I'm currently working on my dissertation about community dance as a method for community organizing, currently titled, "The Experience of Dance in Building Community for Social Change." Dr. Davis coming soon!
