What are you proud of related to your role as a lecturer?
I'm proud of the research Clay Walker and I have done examining students’ uses of and experiences with GenAI technologies. We've built a sustainable way to do research as Lecturers. This research has not only made me a better teacher, but has also pushed me to explore how people learn, develop expertise, and form identities. We have now presented at multiple conferences, published a few papers, and are working on a few more publications/presentations. More than anything, this research has also been really important in building and sustaining community relationships--both on and off campus. I'm very grateful (and proud of myself) for finding a meaningful outlet for continuous learning.
Fun Fact: What is something people might not know about you?
I lived in Germany for 2.5 years when I was preschool aged. This experience prompted me to take German classes in high school and college.
