Sarah Nesbitt

Dearborn Lecturer IV of Applied Arts

Department of Language, Culture and the Arts

What is your area of specialty?

Art History, Contemporary Art, Critical Literacy, Historiography, Logic and Critical Thinking, Media, Popular Culture

What are you proud of related to your role as a lecturer?

Collaborating with people/groups outside of the classroom and having students take part in that collaboration. This semester (W2026), my digital design class made illustrations of dogs for a coloring book to help raise awareness of animal rescues. Previous semesters included making posters for the Engineering Learning Center, the Writing Center, and the Math Learning Center. I like the idea of showcasing the talent and skills of the students outside of the classroom.

What is something you are proud of outside your role as a lecturer?

I'm a professional artist, and I've exhibited my work all over the world, and have been published many times. It's been an adventure making art and taking photos along the way.

Fun Fact: What is something people might not know about you?

I volunteer at Make A Difference Rescue - I help walk dogs, take pictures of them, and help out with web design/graphic design work for them. It helps me sharpen my skills and is a nice serotonin boost while hanging out with awesome dogs.
