Imagine three UM families -- all with two parents and two children.  The first family has its health care coverage from a Lecturer I on the Ann Arbor campus who teaches a 70% appointment and earns $24,500 a year.  The second family has its health care coverage from a Lecturer III on the Dearborn or Flint campus who teaches full-time and earns $35,000 a year.   The third family has its health care coverage from a Dean who earns $140,000 a year.  (Most likely the Dean works in Dearborn or Flint, but might possibly be the head of a small and obscure school in Ann Arbor.)

The chart below shows how the monthly health care premiums that would be paid by these families under the administration's benefits proposal would stack up against their monthly UM gross pay.
