"Latest developments. . ." Peter Luke, MLive.com, May 30, 2011. A report commissioned by a coalition of state employee unions finds state government has 5.9 frontline employees for every manager. In Texas, the ratio is 14 to 1. In Iowa, the goal is 20 to 1 by 2016. Just going to a 7-to-1 ratio in Michigan would save $75 million in wages, the report said, and 11-to-1 would save hundreds of millions more . . . . A Moment to Remember
