Anderson appointed as treasurer
Saturday, 28 August 2010 13:55

The LEO Union Council has appointed Jim Anderson (UM-Flint, English) as the local's treasurer.  Anderson will complete the term of William Morris (UM-Dearborn, Accounting) and plans to run for election to a full term as treasurer this fall.

Morris resigned from the treasurer's office on August 21, having been laid off from his university teaching job and having little expectation of recall.  Union Council members praised Morris for his hard-work, dedication and professionalism, and for continuing to serve the union long after he was laid-off.

Anderson has served LEO in several volunteer capacities.  Most recently he chaired the LEO Bargaining Committee.  He is the first UM-Flint member to hold a union-wide office.
