Halloran contacts voters on Prop 2
On Saturday, September 29, LEO President Bonnie Halloran and forty-one other AFT Michigan members did door to door canvassing in Mount Pleasant to encourage voters to VOTE YES on Proposal 2. The ballot proposal, if passed, will amend the Michigan constitution to protect collective bargaining rights for Michigan workers.
AFT Michigan was holding its biannual Leadership Conference in Mt. Pleasant. The first half of the program focused on leadership training and presentations regarding the November elections. The afternoon session saw AFT leaders from across the state partner with each other, to knock on the doors of persuadable voters. Halloran partnered with Lois Lofton-Doniver, AFT MI Secretary-Treasurer. They reported on conversations with a 70 year old retiree and recent college grad who indicated that they supported Prop 2.
